Agricultural Produce Market Committee Chimur

Agricultural Product Market Committee, Chimur District Chandrapur was established in the year 1982 by splitting from Warora Market Committee. The scope of the committee is limited to Chimur taluka and includes 259 villages in the taluka. The organization was established by the late Gulabrao Ramchandraji Dongre Saheb and he was also the first chairman. The committee actually started its work on 09/11/1982. The committee is currently in “B” category and has been approved by the Hon’ble District Deputy Registrar Cooperative Society Chandrapur. The main market premises of the committee are at Chimur and 3.12 hectare land has been approved by the Hon’ble District Deputy Registrar Cooperative Society Chandrapur for the market premises. Also, 1.16 hectare land has been purchased at Sub-market Neri and 1.21 hectare land has been purchased at Sub-market Bhisi and 1.91 hectare land has been purchased for the cotton collection center Khadsangi. The purchase of the said land has been approved by the Hon'ble District Deputy Registrar Cooperative Society Chandrapur.

The committee is currently in “B” category and the total sanctioned posts as per the pattern are 11. Out of which 9 permanent employees are currently working. The market committee is working for the benefit of farmers. The market committee is also working to get the right price for the farmers’ agricultural produce. The market committee implements the farm produce pledge scheme every year for the farmers. The maximum price is obtained for the farmers’ agricultural produce by making competitive bids for the agricultural produce that comes for sale at the market yard. The employees and office bearers are always working with a view to increasing the income of the committee.

A Board of Directors is in existence in the Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Chimur and their tenure is from 12/05/2023 to 11/05/2028. There are a total of 18 members in the board of directors. Shri Mangeshji L. Dhadse is the Chairman and Shri Ravindraji So. Pandhare is the Vice Chairman.

The sub-markets of this market committee are Neri, Bhisi, Kolari. There are four licensed ginning factories under the Agricultural Products Market Committee and there are two private ginning factories under Bhisi sub-market and one ginning factory each at Rengabodi and Chimur. In these, farmers' farm produce cotton is purchased in large quantities under the market committee. Similarly, government purchase of cotton is also done in large quantities at these four ginning factories in the taluka through the CCI under the government. Similarly, government purchase of paddy under Neri sub-market is done through Suddha Cooperative Society and the market committee provides them with all the facilities.
